Privacy policy

The short version
We collect what we need to get you help, share it only with the tow operators who might take your job, and delete it after 13 months. We do not sell anything about you, and we do not use advertising trackers on this site.
What we collect
- When you request help: the service you need, where you are (and your GPS location, only if you tap "Use my location"), your vehicle, where it should go, your notes, your name and your mobile number.
- When you call or text the TowXpress line: your number, your messages, and a voicemail if you leave one.
- When a tow operator applies: company and contact details, certificate, CVOR and insurance details, the files they upload or text us, and the areas and services they choose.
- Basic technical records kept by our website host (such as IP addresses in server logs) to keep the site running and to stop abuse.
How we use it
- To get your request to operators who can help, and to keep you updated by text.
- To follow up if something goes wrong with a job.
- To check that operators hold a valid certificate and insurance before they get jobs.
- To keep records of requests and jobs, and to prevent fake requests.
Who we share it with
- Operators we offer your job to see the service, the area, your location, your vehicle and your notes, so they can decide whether they can come.
- Only the operator who takes your job gets your name and phone number.
- Service providers that run this site and send our texts and email, only to do that work for us.
- Anyone the law requires us to share with.
Texts
We text you about your own request only. Operators who join agree to get job texts, and can reply STOP at any time.
Cookies
This site does not use advertising or tracking cookies. TowXpress staff who sign in to manage jobs get one sign-in cookie.
How long we keep it
Requests and job records are deleted 13 months after they are made, unless we need them longer to deal with a complaint or because the law requires it. Operator records are kept while an operator is on TowXpress and for 13 months after they leave.
Your choices
You can ask to see the information we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it. Contact us using the details below and we will reply within 30 days. If you are not happy with our answer, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
