Chipped, cracked or broken glass?
Send a few photos of the damage. Auto glass operators near you send their price, mobile or at their shop, and you pick the one you want.
Unsafe, or anyone hurt? Call 911. On a 400-series highway or the QEW? Call 511.
When the glass is damaged
- A rock chip in the windshield, before it spreads
- A crack running across the windshield
- A side or rear window that is broken or won't stay up
- A sunroof that is cracked or shattered

From your request to back on the road
Send photos
The whole windshield or window, and the damage up close. Say which glass and if you claim on insurance.
Get prices
Operators near you send their price and when they can do it, usually within a few hours.
Pick one
Compare and book the one you want: at your home or work, or at their shop.
Glass done
Repaired or replaced. You pay once the work is done.
It helps the operator to know
- Year, make and model, and any windshield features (rain sensor, camera, heated)
- Photos: the whole glass and the damage close up
- Your insurance details if you are claiming
- Where the car will be parked for the work

Before you call
A chip can often be repaired
A small chip filled early usually stops it spreading. A long crack usually means a new windshield.
Cameras behind the windshield
Many newer cars have a camera for lane and braking systems. After a new windshield it may need to be recalibrated: ask the operator.
Broken window and rain
Cover the opening with plastic and tape until it is fixed, and keep valuables out of the car.
What does it cost?
The operator's price plus a booking fee of $3.99 or 5% of the job, whichever is higher, up to $15, plus HST. You see the price before you book.
Can they come to me?
Many do: say on the form if you want them to come to you. Some jobs are best done at their shop.
Does insurance cover it?
Glass is often covered under comprehensive coverage. Check your policy and say on the form if you are claiming.
Need something else?
